Detection Methods

RapidRabbit uses multiple detection methods for accurate results:

HTTP Headers

Meta Tags

Checks generator meta tags and other platform-specific HTML markers.

JavaScript Libraries

Identifies framework-specific JS files and global variables.

URL Patterns

Recognizes platform-specific URL structures and file paths.

Confidence Scores

Each detection includes a confidence score from 0-100%.

Score Interpretation

  • 90-100%: High confidence - multiple strong indicators found
  • 70-89%: Medium confidence - some indicators present
  • 50-69%: Low confidence - limited indicators
  • <50%: Uncertain - may need manual verification

Improving Accuracy

Higher confidence scores are achieved when multiple detection methods agree on the same platform.

How Detection Works

RapidRabbit uses a multi-signal approach to identify CMS platforms. The detector analyzes four categories of evidence from each website:

  • HTTP Headers: Server headers, X-Powered-By, and platform-specific headers like X-Drupal-Cache or X-Shopify-Stage
  • Meta Tags: Generator meta tags and platform-specific meta elements in the page HTML
  • URL Patterns: Characteristic URL structures such as /wp-content/ for WordPress or /sites/default/files/ for Drupal
  • Body Content: Platform-specific CSS classes, JavaScript variables, and HTML comment patterns embedded in the page source

Confidence Scores

Each detection result includes a confidence indicator. A high confidence result means multiple detection signals were matched across different evidence categories. A low confidence result means only one signal was found, which may indicate a false positive. When multiple platforms are detected, results are sorted by confidence level so the most likely match appears first.

Undetected Platforms

If RapidRabbit does not detect a CMS, the website may be using a custom-built solution, a platform not yet in the detection database, or the site may have been configured to hide its CMS signatures. You can still perform SEO analysis and content auditing regardless of CMS detection results.
